This presentation will look at its chart run in depth and follow its growth from a market-to-market hit in the Midwest to a full fledged national smash, and also present excerpts of radio recordings from the winter of 1957 made by Jimmy following Tommy's death. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMatthew Barton became the Curator of Recorded Sound at the Library of Congress in 2008. From 1996 to 2003, he was production coordinator of the Alan Lomax Collection CD series. He has written extensively on recorded music and sound, and is a contributor to the 2012 book \u003cem\u003eThe Ballad Collectors of North America\u003c/em\u003e.
