This presentation provides ARSC members with a preview of the study’s findings. The study is organized around four areas related to audio archives and preservation: Collections; Technology; Education; and Copyright. The most important issues brought out in the study will be addressed by a National Plan for Audio Preservation, also directed by Congress. Drafting of the National Plan will be underway at the time of the ARSC Conference. In this session Library of Congress staff members also present a progress report on work to date drafting a National Plan for Audio Preservation. The review of work on the Plan summarizes components of the Plan and outlines outstanding unresolved issues.
