Second, Eric Monroe (Chemist in LC Preservation, Research and Testing Division PRTD in Washington, DC) will share his research in the physical and chemical science of wax cylinders at the PRTD Lab in Washington, DC. Eric's work combines a detailed chemical analysis of cylinders and fragments from LC collections as well as recreating wax compositions of the wax cylinders.
