We also saw connecting memory institutions and private collectors — two groups that are both passionate about their collections, but don't always share the same goals — as the essential first step for the project. Over the next year, we reached out to many individuals, institutions and associations around the world, with \"connect, collect and collaborate\" as the goal of the committee and our project. In early 2017 we published the first iteration of the bibliography on the IASA website. Our team (including students in the U.S. and the Czech Republic) added entries, but many were also received from our network of collaborators around the world.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe IBD includes discographies created in book, article, CD-ROM, PDF, website, and database formats, representing label, artist and genre discographies in many languages, as well as record catalogs. Such a work will never be absolutely complete, but our goal is to include information about all current and out-of-print discographies published worldwide in print and electronic formats, including unpublished work in progress. In the last two years we have presented papers about the bibliography at ARSC, IASA, GHT (Gesellschaft für Historische Tonträger), and other European conferences. At IASA 2016, we held our first workshop for anyone interested in contributing to the bibliography.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePeter Laurence is Senior Curatorial Assistant for the Archive of World Music in the Eda Kuhn Loeb Music Library at Harvard University. He oversees many aspects of managing its ethnic sound recording collections, and also selects new commercial recordings for the Archive. Since September 2015, he has served as Secretary of the Discography Committee in the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives. He has worked intensively on the committee's main project — building an online bibliography of all published and unpublished work in the field of discography. Peter has an undergraduate degree in Classics and received his MLS in 2011.
