The disc had only recently been donated to the museum—it had been found in the smokehouse of the Pickard Family's Tennessee farm, where it must have been stored for decades. Other discs, sadly, were used as roofing materials for Mexican homes. The Univ. of TX Center for American History holds numerous discs that were recorded from border broadcasts. Other archival border radio sound lives on in tape collections, station i.d. soundbites, and commercial recordings.
