Though now considered a landmark of private-press psychedelic folk music, the self-titled Ted Lucas LP was overlooked for decades until music historian and archivist Mike Dutkewych worked with the Lucas family and Yoga Records to reissue the album in 2010.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eSince 2008, Dutkewych has led the campaign to catalog, digitize, and preserve the extensive archive of recordings Lucas left behind when he died in 1992. The Ted Lucas Collection includes nearly 500 reel-to-reel tapes of various sizes, hundreds of homemade cassettes, acetates, vinyl records, films, photographs, and other obsolete media formats. After nearly two decades of stewardship, Dutkewych partnered with Jack White’s Third Man Records to produce a 3xLP retrospective box set that illuminates the remarkable breadth and depth of Lucas’s unheralded career.
