From concept to content, the CCMC represents the diverse styles, genres, and musical influences of Louisiana Cajuns and Creoles. The presentation will begin with an introduction and history of the collection. This will be followed by a description of the audio and video recordings (commercial and non- commercial) and other music related materials, including print resources, photographs, and artifacts. Technical aspects such as collection development, acquisition, organization, preservation, cataloging, classification, and digitization will be addressed. The program will describe initial and continuing processes in research services, the acquisition of grant funding and donations, and the fostering of collaborative efforts and relationships within the library, the university, and the larger community.
